Russians continue offensive despite weather and heavy losses – Hnatov
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Hnatov, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"In general, despite heavy losses in personnel, weapons, and military equipment, the enemy is not giving up on continuing offensive actions. Of course, weather will play a role, since precipitation will significantly reduce terrain passability and, accordingly, troop maneuverability. At the same time, it is highly likely that they will continue carrying out their offensive operations in order to achieve the objectives set by their top military and political leadership," Hnatov said.
He clarified that the stated Russian objective is the complete "liberation" of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, meaning an attempt to reach their administrative borders and fully occupy the territories.
According to Hnatov, given current developments, the formations created, their composition, and assigned tasks, it can be predicted that Russian forces will continue to concentrate their efforts precisely on the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia axes.
