Pregnant woman injured in Russia’s Sept. 7 attack on Kyiv dies in hospital

Tetiana Sakiian, a 24-year-old woman who was critically injured during a Russian strike on Kyiv on September 7 while in the final stages of pregnancy, has died in hospital.

Her family confirmed the news to TSN, as reported by Ukrinform.

“During the Russian attack, Tetiana and her husband suffered burns covering more than 80% of their bodies. Doctors managed to save the baby through an emergency C-section. The boy was named Nazar. Despite the hopes of her loved ones, Tetiana passed away last night,” the statement reads.

The baby’s father remains hospitalized in critical condition. Relatives of the couple plan to take custody of the child.

As previously reported, three people were killed in a residential building in Kyiv’s Borshchahivka district on September 7—a woman, her two-month-old baby, and a 54-year-old man.
