The draft law on sending units of the Ukrainian Navy to Turkey and the United Kingdom does not provide for any extraordinary changes, but only brings the legislative framework into line with actual needs.

This was stated on television by Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“In fact, lawmakers are bringing the regulatory framework into line with the actual state of affairs. In order to ensure the maintenance of our ships abroad, it is necessary to have legal grounds for this,” Pletenchuk said.

He recalled that previously it was possible to obtain the necessary forces and means for joint actions abroad, in particular during international exercises. The situation is somewhat different now, but, according to the spokesperson, there is no reason to talk about anything extraordinary.

"I cannot say that something extraordinary has happened. It was a necessary measure, and the legislature has rectified the situation," Pletenchuk concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky has registered a bill in parliament on sending Navy units to Turkey and Britain.
