Authorities in Moscow have confirmed a drone attack on Russia’s capital.

This was reported by the Telegram channel Baza, citing a statement from Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, according to Ukrinform.

According to the statement, Russia’s Ministry of Defense air defense systems are repelling the drone attack on Moscow, and “all emergency services are on site.”

Explosions were reported in nine districts of the city.

Baza also reported flight delays at Moscow airports: nine flights at Sheremetyevo, six at Vnukovo, and three at Domodedovo.

According to the BBC, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) denied reports of airport closures, though it confirmed the implementation of “temporary restrictions” at Sheremetyevo Airport.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Moscow stated that nine drones had been shot down, according to the BBC.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, on the night of September 20, drones targeted Russia’s Saratov and Novokuybyshevsk oil refineries, causing fires at both facilities.
