Ukrainian forces regained control over 1.3 sq km in Pokrovsk district over past day – CinC Syrskyi

Over the past day, Ukrainian forces regained control of 1.3 square kilometers and conducted search-and-destroy operations across an additional 2.1 square kilometers in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Over the past day, control was restored over 1.3 km², and search-and-destroy operations were carried out across 2.1 km² in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region," Syrskyi stated.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, Ukrainian assault units have advanced between 200 meters and 2.5 kilometers in certain directions.

"During combat operations, 43 enemy troops were eliminated, with total Russian losses amounting to 65 personnel. Additionally, 11 pieces of military equipment were destroyed (including four artillery systems, six UAVs, and one motorcycle)," he added.

Syrskyi also reported that, as of 00.00 on September 22, Ukrainian forces had liberated a total of 164.5 km² and cleared an additional 180.8 km² of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Ukrainian forces have regained control of seven settlements, while nine others have been cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

"The total losses of Russian occupying forces in the Dobropillia sector amount to 2,696 personnel, of which 1,492 are irrecoverable. The 'exchange fund' for returning Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity continues to grow," the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

He further noted that Russian forces lost 856 units of weapons and military equipment, including: 12 tanks, 38 armored combat vehicles, 175 artillery systems, 5 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 441 vehicles, 58 motorcycles and quad bikes, 1 unit of special equipment, and 173 UAVs.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian troops advanced between 3 and 7 kilometers into Russian defensive lines in the Dobropillia sector.
