Currently, no activity is being observed from Belarus along the border with Ukraine.

Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this on television, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“The situation along our border with Belarus has not changed. As it was before the Zapad-2025 exercises, during those drills, and now, we are not recording any activity directed toward our border from Belarusian territory,” he stated.

Demchenko emphasized that the direction remains potentially threatening, since Belarus continues to support the Russian Federation. Following the end of the active phase of the joint exercises, Belarusian and Russian units returned to their permanent bases. The spokesperson added that the number of Russian personnel and equipment had been small, and at present, the border guards are not recording any movements.

“Belarus continues to keep a small number of units stationed at the border. This has been the case since 2022, when Belarus sought to create the impression that a threat allegedly comes from Ukraine’s territory,” Demchenko explained.

As for the Sumy region, he reported that within the Khotin and Yunakivka communities, Russia is using only small assault and infantry groups. No equipment is being deployed, and the activity of these groups has significantly decreased compared to the previous period.

According to the spokesperson, the enemy is not achieving results and is even redeploying forces from this area to other sectors of the front.

As Ukrinform reported, the United States confirmed that it had sent its observers to the Russia-Belarus Zapad-2025 exercises at the hosts’ invitation.
