Ukrainian Special Operations Forces strike Volgograd Oil Refinery, Lukoil plant shuts down

On the night of September 18, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces carried out a strike on the Volgograd Oil Refinery in Russia’s Volgograd region.
According to Ukrinform, the Special Operations Forces Command reported on Facebook.
The refinery plays a key role in supplying the Russian Armed Forces and is the largest producer of fuels and lubricants in Russia’s Southern Federal District. Its annual processing capacity reaches 15.7 million tons, or 5.6% of Russia’s total oil refining.
According to preliminary information, operations at the refinery have been halted.
As reported earlier, the Lukoil-owned refinery in Volgograd suspended crude oil intake, becoming the third major Russian refinery to shut down following a series of Ukrainian drone strikes over the past two weeks that have hit at least seven refineries across the country.
