Two gas pipelines damaged by explosions in Penza, Russia — source
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
At least four explosions were heard in the Zheleznodorozhia district of Penza at around 4 a.m. on September 8.
As a result, two pipes of the main gas pipeline with a capacity of 2 million barrels per day ceased to function.
In addition, according to information from a source in the Main Intelligence Directorate, two more pipes of the regional gas pipeline were damaged at the same location.
A few hours after the explosions, in order to conceal the real causes of the emergency, local media reported on alleged “planned exercises” at oil and gas facilities in conjunction with emergency and special services.
Local residents were urged to remain calm and not to react to information about the explosions in local public groups.
Both damaged gas pipelines supplied military facilities of the Russian Federation involved in full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the intelligence service emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, on September 5, Commander of Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”) confirmed strikes on the occupiers' oil refinery in Ryazan and an oil depot in temporarily occupied Luhansk.
