Ukrainian forces strike port in Astrakhan region used by Russia for supplies from Iran

Units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, in coordination with other branches of the Defense Forces, carried out a strike on the port of Olya in Russia's Astrakhan region.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

As part of efforts to reduce Russia's ability to conduct air strikes, the Special Operations Forces, working jointly with other Defense Force units, targeted the port of Olya on August 14.

The facility is used by Russia as a key logistics hub for military cargo deliveries from Iran.

According to available information, the strike hit the vessel Port Olya 4, which was loaded with components for Shahed-type UAVs and ammunition from Iran.

The results of the strike are being clarified.
