Missile strike on Lviv region: Cluster munitions found in Drohobych community

Cluster munitions were discovered in the Drohobych community of the Lviv region following a Russian missile and drone attack on June 29.

The Drohobych City Council announced this on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Following a recent missile and drone strike on our community, life-threatening cluster munitions were found at the impact site,” the statement said.

According to the City Council, explosives experts are currently examining the scene, which remains under the control of emergency services.

 Authorities described the munitions as round and gray, often partially buried under debris or soil, and warned that they pose extreme danger within a 30-meter radius.

Residents have been urged to avoid the affected area entirely, particularly the industrial facility that was struck. “It is strictly prohibited to approach the site. It is deadly dangerous, the council emphasized.

Locals have been urged not to take photographs or share the location of explosive objects online. The public is reminded not to touch, dig up, or attempt to move any suspicious items. If such objects are found, individuals should immediately contact emergency services by calling 102.

As previously reported, Russian forces launched a missile attack targeting the Drohobych district, striking a critical infrastructure facility.
