One of the two Russian engineers responsible for developing CRPA antennas for Shahed-type drones has already been killed.

This was announced by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, in comments to journalists during an event to award participants in the Magura project.

"What's new? They are improving the CRPA antennas, switching to 16 channels. These antennas are now manufactured in Russia, but this CRPA antenna was developed here in Ukraine by an engineer. No one needed it in the early 2000s, so he went to Russia. Now one of them [the development engineers] has died tragically in some way, and one is still alive. Well, probably not for long," Budanov said.

As a reminder, a CRPA antenna is a special GNSS navigation antenna capable of providing high-quality positioning of a drone in space even in conditions of active radio interference.

Such antennas detect false radio-electronic signals and help to ignore them. As a result, enemy electronic warfare does not affect the drone's navigation, and it flies straight to its target.

In particular, Russian CRPA Comet antennas were previously found in Iranian Shahed-136 drones and Russian Orlan-10 and SuperCam reconnaissance drones.
