Russian shelling of Cherkasy region: number of injured rises to six, including a child

The head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, said this in a post on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Smila. Recovery efforts following the large-scale missile and drone attack continue. All necessary services are on-site assisting residents. An operational headquarters has been deployed to coordinate the response,” Taburets stated.

As noted, six people were injured, including one child.

According to preliminary data, three nine-story buildings were damaged. The local college of the National University of Food Technologies was also significantly damaged, Taburets wrote.

Emergency crews comprising 81 rescuers and 30 units of equipment are currently working at the site. According to preliminary reports, the local college sustained serious damage.

Earlier, three injuries had been reported, but updated information confirms that six individuals were wounded in the overnight attack on June 29, which targeted civilian infrastructure across the Cherkasy region.
