Devastation in Dnipro: apartment buildings, educational institutions, hospitals damaged by Russian strike

Mayor of Dnipro Borys Filatov reported the details on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

Final damage assessments are still ongoing.

“Across residential buildings and various municipal facilities in the city, we have more than 2,000 (!) shattered windows alone. In total, nearly 50 apartment buildings have been damaged, with some also suffering roof destruction,” the statement reads.

Private homes were hit as well. In just one district, nearly 400 damage reports were received from residents, and more continue to come in.

“Nearly 40 educational institutions were affected — secondary schools, kindergartens, music schools, and vocational colleges. There is damage to eight healthcare facilities — hospitals, outpatient clinics, and a dental clinic,” Filatov added.

Public transport was also hit. Three tram cars were damaged, a contact network support pole was destroyed, and dispatch centers and maintenance workshops suffered impacts. One depot's roof was shattered.

Also affected were the Kaidatska pumping and filtration station, 16 district and residential boiler stations, the social services department, a church, an organ concert hall, an ice arena, a gas station, a correctional facility, a bakery, an industrial enterprise, a district administration office, and the State Treasury.

Filatov stressed: “The city has recorded an unprecedented level of destruction. Nothing of this scale has happened in Dnipro throughout the entire full-scale war.”

All emergency services are on site. Aid tents have been set up across the city to register damage reports from residents.

As previously reported, the attack in Dnipro left 174 people injured and 15 killed.
