Overnight Monday, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv and the region, deploying drones and ballistic missiles.

Strikes were reported across multiple districts, resulting in damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.

According to local authorities, six people have been confirmed dead and 19 injured in Kyiv, while one fatality and eight injuries were reported in the surrounding region. These numbers may change as updates continue to emerge.

Search and rescue operations remain ongoing.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko shared video footage from the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a Russian missile hit a five-story residential building.

“A harrowing scene in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The building suffered extensive damage. Rescuers, medics, and utility workers are on site,” Klitschko reported.

The attack also damaged infrastructure at the Sviatoshyn metro station, forcing the closure of one of its exits. The State Emergency Service confirmed that emergency teams are working across several locations in the city, including the Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

Earlier, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko warned that people may still be trapped under the rubble.
