Over 40 Injured, one killed in Russian airstrikes on Kharkiv – Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“As of now, over 40 people have been reported injured and one person killed in Kharkiv due to a Russian aerial bomb strike,” Zelensky said.
He condemned the attack, calling it another “savage killing” and describing the use of aerial bombs on civilian areas — including near a children’s railway — as pure terrorism with no military justification.
“This is pure terrorism. And this has been going on for more than three years of the full-scale war. This cannot be ignored. This cannot be turned a blind eye to. And this is not some kind of game. Every day, we lose our people only because Russia feels it can act with impunity. Russia must be firmly forced into peace,” Zelensky emphasized.
The Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, confirmed that four aerial bombs were used in the strike on Kharkiv.
“As a result of the attack, two buildings of the children's railway and four train cars were damaged, along with two private homes and an outbuilding. Medical teams and emergency services are working at the scene,” he said.
Earlier reports indicated that around 17:30 on June 7, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with two guided aerial bombs. The strikes hit the children’s railway in the Shevchenkivskyi district and private residential areas in the Kyivskyi district. At that time, it was reported that a 30-year-old woman was killed and 18 people were wounded, including three in serious condition.
