
Ukrainian forces down 71 of 88 Russian drones
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
Starting at 20:00 on May 27, Russian forces deployed five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, a Kh-59/69 guided missile from the Kursk and Voronezh regions as well as from occupied Crimea, along with 88 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various decoy drones from multiple launch sites, including Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the attack using anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire teams.
As of 09:00, Ukrainian air defense had successfully neutralized 71 drones across eastern, northern, and southern Ukraine. Of these, 34 were destroyed by direct fire, while 37 were suppressed or lost due to electronic warfare. Airstrikes were recorded in eight locations.
As earlier reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces also launched a ballistic missile targeting an enterprise on the outskirts of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, on the evening of May 27.
