Belarus has no nuclear weapons, only delivery systems – intelligence
This was stated in an interview with Ukrinform by Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Oleh Ivashchenko.
"Nuclear weapons carriers are deployed out there. That’s a true fact. There are deployed airplanes, Iskander missiles. But there are no nuclear weapons deployed in Belarus. That’s a proven fact," he said.
In response to a follow-up question, Ivashchenko confirmed that there are currently no nuclear warheads in Belarus.
"They are furnishing storage facilities, preparing themselves, building. Lukashenko says that they will have an Oreshnik [intermediate-range ballistic missile system] deployed by the end of the year. But this is more like wishful thinking. For now, they have nothing like that and are unlikely to have," the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service added.
As previously reported, in December 2024, self-proclaimed president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko claimed that the country possessed tactical nuclear weapons.
