The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has denied Russian claims that combat operations in the Kursk region have ended.

The Ukrainian General Staff said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The statements by representatives of the aggressor state about the alleged end of fighting in Russia's Kursk region do not reflect the actual situation on the ground," the post said.

The General Staff stressed that Ukrainian forces continue to carry out operations in designated areas along the border in the Kursk region. Despite difficult conditions, Ukrainian troops are holding their positions, completing assigned tasks, and inflicting effective losses on the enemy.

Since the beginning of the operation in the Kursk sector, Russian forces have lost 63,402 troops, including 25,625 killed.

Additionally, 971 Russian soldiers have been taken prisoner. A total of 5,664 units of Russian weaponry and military equipment have been destroyed or damaged.

Ukrainian units are also continuing active operations in designated areas of Russia's Belgorod region, the General Staff said.

Russian propagandists have been circulating news of Russian leader Vladimir Putin's visit to the Kursk region while omitting any mention of ongoing combat activities in the area.
