DIU preparing lists for “1000 for 1000” prisoner exchange

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has started working on the lists of people who will be returned to their homeland under the “1000 for 1000” exchange.

This was stated by the Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi during a briefing following the talks in Istanbul, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Russian side agreed to exchange thousands of people. In the near future, starting today, we are working on the lists of those who will be returned to their homeland. We have normal experience of working with the Russian side,” Skibitskyi said.

He also recalled that the bodies of the fallen heroes were returned today and assured that Ukraine would “do everything to ensure that every citizen returns home.”

As Ukrinform reported, a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations took place in Istanbul today.

Also today, it became known that the bodies of 909 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine as a result of repatriation activities.

On May 6, a large exchange of prisoners took place between Ukraine and Russia. 205 of our defenders were released from Russian captivity.
