Explosions reported near Russian arms arsenal in Vladimir region – social media

Explosions are being heard in the Kirzhach district in Russia's Vladimir region, where an arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian Defense Ministry is located.

That's according to the Telegram channel Astra, which refers to local residents.

Smoke from the explosions can be seen over the village of Barsovo. The arsenal and military unit 11785 are located there.

Published footage shows the moment of the explosion and a large plume of gray smoke in the air.

It was also reported that a road from Moscow to Kirzhach had been closed.

According to eyewitnesses, explosions in the area of the arsenal continued as of 16:47. The evacuation of the villages of Mirnoye and Barsovo is ongoing.

According to the Telegram channel Shot, the governor of the region, Alexander Avdeev, reported that an explosion occurred in the Kirzhach district.

"The relevant services are working at the scene. More detailed information will be reported later," he said.

According to the Telegram channel Ostorozhno, Novosti, the sounds of explosions were heard in dozens of settlements near Kirzhach.
