Over 400 FPV drone attacks recorded today – Zelensky
According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram following a briefing by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“Unfortunately, the trend of increasing the use of heavy weaponry by Russian forces continues. From the beginning of the day until 16:00, there have been a total of 46 Russian assaults across various directions and 901 instances of shelling, 448 of which involved heavy weaponry. More than 400 cases of FPV drone use by Russians have already been documented,” Zelensky stated.
The Pokrovsk direction remains the most active zone of Russian operations.
“Putin’s words about a ‘ceasefire’ have also proven empty in the Kursk region, the Siversk direction, and other directions in the Donetsk region,” the President added.
He reported that Ukrainian defenders in the Toretsk sector fell into a Russian ambush, resulting in casualties. The President assured that the Russian troops responsible for this "will be eliminated."
“The Ukrainian army is acting – and will continue to act – in a fully symmetrical manner. This Easter has clearly demonstrated that the only source of this war, and the reason it drags on, is Russia,” Zelensky emphasized.
He reiterated Ukraine’s readiness for an unconditional and honest ceasefire, one that could last for at least 30 days, but said there had been no response from Russia so far.
“The situation on the frontline shows that pressure on Moscow and real oversight of the actions of the occupying forces are needed for the ceasefire to be established,” Zelensky concluded.
As previously reported, Putin announced Easter ceasefire on April 19, but Ukraine confirmed ongoing attacks that same evening.
