President Volodymyr Zelensky has tasked Defense Minister Rustem Umerov with presenting to the United States the evidence of damage to Ukraine's energy infrastructure caused by Russian strikes.

The head of state announced this in a video address, as reported by Ukrinform.

"I have instructed Ukraine’s Minister of Defense to present to our American partners all the facts regarding damage to our energy infrastructure caused by Russian attacks. Just in the past 24 hours, there was a targeted Russian drone strike on gas infrastructure in Poltava region. There was also an artillery strike on Kherson, which damaged the city’s power infrastructure. Also yesterday, one of Russia’s attacks on Kharkiv damaged the city’s heating supply infrastructure. All of this shows that Russia will continue to sabotage diplomacy, and will continue to act in this way, and that Moscow’s only tactic remains dragging out the war," Zelensky said.

The President emphasized that despite Putin's statements, the Russian forces continue pushing forward with all available military means, making it necessary to increase pressure on Russia for diplomacy to succeed.

Zelensky reminded that on March 11, Ukraine accepted the US proposal for an unconditional ceasefire, and since then, the responsibility for stalling diplomacy lies entirely with Russia.

As Ukrinform previously reported, during negotiations between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the two countries agreed to develop measures for implementing agreements between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. These agreements include banning strikes on energy facilities in both Russia and Ukraine.
