Zelensky: Building effective air shield of Ukraine will not stop
The President of Ukraine emphasized this in an evening video message posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“First of all, I am grateful to our defenders of the sky. Every night now is a large-scale Russian drone attack. About a hundred “Shaheds” each time. A lot of damage. This morning alone, 97 drones were shot down overnight. Mobile fire groups, electronic warfare, air defense units - thank you. Unfortunately, there are also hits. We need to be much more effective in protecting our skies. And the development of our effective air shield will not stop,” Zelensky said.
The President thanked all the partners who help in this. But, according to him, we need more air defense systems, more appropriate ammunition to shoot down drones. The Ukrainian authorities are talking about this with all partners.
“Tonight in Kyiv, unfortunately, three people were killed by Russian drones. A father and daughter - the child was five years old. A Russian strike in Zaporizhzhia the day before took the lives of an entire family - mom, dad, daughter. My condolences to all the family and friends. We also need to put more pressure on Russia to stop this terror. And it depends on all partners - from America, from Europe, from others in the world,” Zelensky emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, during the week of March 17-23, the air defense destroyed more than 1,115 air targets launched by Russian invaders on the territory of Ukraine.
