Ukraine's Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, has appealed to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding a new case of Russian troops executing Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Lubinets reported via Telegram that a video showing the apparent execution of unarmed Ukrainian POWs is circulating on social media, according to Ukrinform.

The footage shows at least five prisoners, likely killed by Russian forces.

The ombudsman condemned the act, stating that it demonstrates Russia's blatant disregard for international humanitarian law.

"Those who issue and carry out such brutal orders must be held accountable," Lubinets said.
