Drone attack on Kharkiv: injury toll rises to 12 including two minors

The number of casualties from the massive drone attack on Kharkiv overnight has risen to 12 including two children.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office via Telegram, as cited by Ukrinform.

"The Russian forces carried out a large-scale drone attack on Kharkiv injuring 12 people, including two children," the statement reads.

According to the investigation, during the night of March 1, the enemy launched a massive drone strike on three districts of Kharkiv.

In Shevchenkivskyi district, a UAV struck an archway near a multi-story residential building, causing a 6-year-old girl to experience acute stress. Another strike hit a medical facility in the city center, where four female patients were injured.

One of the drones hit the roadway near a car dealership and a residential complex. There was also a recorded attack on the territory of a garden cooperative.

In Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district, a drone struck an inactive office building that had been shelled multiple times before. Another UAV hit a two-story commercial building. Apartment buildings, pharmacies, cafes, stores, and other establishments were damaged. A woman suffered an acute stress reaction. A man and a 6-year-old boy were injured by glass fragments, and another man hit his head during the explosion.

Additionally, law enforcement officers recorded a drone strike on a gas station in this district. Three employees received medical assistance due to acute stress reactions.

In Novobavarskyi district, a drone hit a private residential house, but no people were inside. The explosion also damaged a printing facility.

Under the procedural leadership of the Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, and Novobavarskyi district prosecutor’s offices in Kharkiv, pretrial investigations have been launched into war crimes (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As previously reported, late on February 28, the Russian forces launched a massive drone strike on Kharkiv.

The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration noted that the enemy used nine strike drones.
