Oil depot ablaze in Russia’s Krasnodar Territory after drone attack

In the early hours of Wednesday, February 5, a tank with petroleum products caught fire as a result of a drone attack in one of the districts of Russia’s Krasnodar Territory.

This was reported by the BBC Russian service, Ukrinform saw.

The attack was confirmed by the region’s governor Veniamin Kondratyev. According to the official, the military repelled the raid of "Ukrainian drones" with no casualties reported. He added that the downed drone debris plunged onto a petroleum tank, causing a fire.

The ASTRA Telegram channel, citing local residents, clarified that the Albashneft LLC oil depot came under attack.

According to the regional operational headquarters, as of 8:11 Moscow time, the fire at the site has been put out.

As per the Russian defense ministry, air defense forces last night shot down four Ukrainian drones, including two over Kursk region and two over Belgorod region. The statement offers no mention of the drone attack and subsequent fire at the oil depot.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the night of February 5, an air raid alert went off in a number of Ukrainian regions as Russian Shahed kamikaze drones had been spotted in the country’s airspace.
