AFU hold positions and foothold on left bank of Dnipro - Tavria Brigade
According to Ukrinform, the spokesman for the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, Dmytro Lykhoviy, told Radio Svoboda.
"The fact that the positions of the Ukrainian forces in the village of Krynky were destroyed to the ground as a result of intense, prolonged enemy shelling and air strikes was also taken into account. The village itself was almost completely destroyed. There is no way to hold the defence there, no way to cling to any fortifications, and therefore, Ukrainian defenders are now at other designated positions and footholds, as well as on the left bank of the Dnipro," he said in a commentary to the Radio Svoboda project Crimea.Realii.
According to Lykhoviy, across the entire operational area of the Tavria operational group of troops, the Prydniprovia direction is "the hottest, but relatively speaking, there are enemy assaults there every day".
"There are relatively more of them compared to other sections of our combat line in our operational area, but these figures are measured in numbers of about three or four per day, sometimes two. Sometimes there can be about a dozen... This is a little less intense than before, but Russian attempts to advance to these footholds continue, but they remain unsuccessful," said the spokesman.
As Ukrinform previously reported, a closed pre-premiere screening of the documentary Krynky, made by the spouses of photojournalists Konstantin and Vlada Liberov in cooperation with Ukrinform, took place in Kyiv. The events depicted in the film take place at the Krynky bridgehead, on the left bank of the Kherson region, captured on the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, in a village that has been left with only a name and a dot on the map.
