F-16 fighter jets promised by Western countries have not yet arrived in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with the BBC, Ukrinform reports.
"It's been 18 months and the planes have not reached us," he said, saying that he was thankful for what Ukraine had been given.
He emphasized that new fighters were essential to help Ukrainians push back against Russia's aerial dominance and "unblock the skies."
Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans earlier told Ukrinform that F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands would arrive in Ukraine in the short term.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia was using 300 warplanes against Ukraine and that Kyiv needed at least 128 F-16s to counter them.
