In Kherson, emergency workers rescued three people from an apartment building where a fire broke out as a result of Russian shelling.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.

"This afternoon, the occupiers struck the city again. A shell hit an apartment in a building, where two apartments caught fire at once," the statement reads.

As noted, the firefighters who arrived at the scene saw people from the upper floors begging for help.

The emergency workers rescued three people from the smoke-filled building and evacuated two more.

The victims received first aid and an ambulance was called.

It is emphasized that the fire in two apartments was quickly extinguished.

As reported earlier, Russian troops struck the Korabelnyi district of Kherson with a missile, damaging residential buildings.
