Ukraine reports 80 combat clashes on front lines in past day
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Eighty combat engagements were recorded over the past 24 hours. In total, the enemy launched three missile strikes (using S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles against the civilian infrastructure of Novohradivka, Donetsk region) and four airstrikes and carried out 58 attacks using multiple rocket launchers against the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements." the post said.
The attacks damaged and destroyed 40 private houses and other civilian infrastructure.
Last night, the Russian occupiers carried out another aerial attack, using two Shahed-136/131 strike drones. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed one enemy drone.
The settlements of Chernatske and Seredyna-Buda in the Sumy region were hit by airstrikes.
More than 140 towns and villages in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
The situation in the area of responsibility of the North operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remains largely unchanged.
In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna sectors, the enemy maintains its military presence in the border areas, conducting active diversionary activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous sectors and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops on the Kupiansk axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 enemy attacks near Petropavlivka and Synkivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region.
On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks by the occupiers near Terny and Yampolivka, Donetsk region, and seven attacks near Serebrianske Forestry and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian forces repelled eight enemy attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, Donetsk region.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops in the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back enemy attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers hold their ground, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Thus, during the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces repelled 11 enemy attacks near Avdiivka and 12 attacks south of Sieverne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Marinka sector, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the occupiers near Heorhiivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where six attacks were repelled.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Shakhtarske sector.
On the Zaporizhzhia axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.
In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational and strategic group of troops in the Kherson sector, the defense forces continue to take measures to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the enemy still attempts to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. In the past day, the enemy carried out six unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops.
At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aircraft struck six areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, an anti-aircraft missile system, an ammunition depot and a communications hub.
Units of the Ukrainian rocket forces hit three areas of concentration of Russian military personnel, weapons and military equipment, a command post and an electronic warfare station of the invaders.
