Explosions and a fire were reported at a terminal of the Novatek company at the port of Ust-Luga, Russia's Leningrad region.

That's according to Russian Telegram channels, Ukrinform reports.

"A terminal of the Novatek company is on fire at the port of Ust-Luga. The staff have been evacuated, the fire is being extinguished," the post reads.

According to other Russian Telegram channels, several explosions were heard. Local residents said they heard the sound of a drone before the explosions.

According to various sources, either an oil terminal or a coal terminal is on fire.

In the Kingisepp district, where Ust-Luga is located, the operational headquarters is on high alert.

According to the regional administration, there were no casualties. The causes of the explosion and fire currently remain unknown.
