Ukraine’s defense forces repel 8 attacks in Avdiivka sector, 15 attacks in Marinka sector

In the Avdiivka sector, Russian forces have increased the number of air strikes in the past two days, using mostly guided aerial bombs. The Defense Forces of Ukraine have repelled eight enemy attacks today.

Spokesperson for the Tavria Group of Troops Oleksandr Shtupun said this during the nationwide United News telethon on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.

"Combat operations continue in the Avdiivka sector. The occupiers have increased the number of air strikes over the past two days. They use mostly guided aerial bombs from Su-35 aircraft," said Shtupun.

According to him, the enemy throws infantry forward. Two Russian tanks and 14 other armored vehicles were destroyed, more than 10 enemy armored vehicles were damaged the day before yesterday as the Russians tried to use armored vehicles.

The spokesman informed that today Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attempts to attack south of Novokalynove, in Avdiivka and Sieverne districts and east of Pervomaiske.

According to him, the enemy, with the support of aircraft, conducted unsuccessful assaults in the Marinka direction. Fifteen enemy attacks were repelled today in the area of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka.

"There is continued activity of small infantry groups of the enemy and constant shelling of surrounding settlements with artillery, MLRS and mortars," Shtupun noted.

At the same time, according to him, the Defense Forces continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction. The enemy is trying to counterattack, to regain certain positions. Today, an attack south of Zolota Nyva was repelled, as well as four unsuccessful assaults in the area of Robotyne, the spokesman said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Defense Forces repelled 24 enemy attacks in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Maryinka sector in the past day.
