Defense Forces repel Russian attacks in seven sectors – General Staff

The Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Shakhtarske and Zaporizhzhia directions. As many as 38 combat clashed have occurred.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update, Ukrinform reports.

In the past day, 38 combat clashes have been recorded along the front line. The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct the offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut sector.

Ukrainian defenders inflict manpower and equipment losses on the Russian troops, weakening the enemy along the entire front line.

Throughout the day, the Air Force of Ukraine launched seven strikes on enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment clusters, and three more strikes on the invaders' anti-aircraft missile systems.

For their part, missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed eight enemy artillery units, one EW station, one pontoon-bridge crossing and struck four areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment of invaders.

In total, the Russian army launched one missile attack and 52 airstrikes, 15 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas during the day. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Damage was caused to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 23, President Volodymyr Zelensky held another meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
