508 children killed, 1,138 injured in Ukraine since Russian full-scale invasion
“More than 1,646 children in Ukraine have suffered from the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of October 23, 2023, according to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 508 children were killed and more than 1,138 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine posted on Telegram.
It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 492, Kharkiv region - 304, Kherson region – 130, Kyiv region - 129, Zaporizhzhia region – 99, Mykolaiv region - 97, Dnipropetrovsk region – 96, Chernihiv region – 72, and Luhansk region – 67.
According to the PGO, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were injured in a Russian shelling of Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, on October 22.
The PGO added that 1,779 children are currently considered missing in Ukraine, and 19,580 have been found, according to data from the "Children of War" portal.
As reported, Andriy Yermak, the head of the President's Office, told about four Ukrainian children who were returned to their families within the framework of the implementation of the Bring Kids Back UA action plan approved by the President of Ukraine.
