Three Russian cruise missiles launched at Mykolaiv, Kherson and Odesa regions on the evening of October 20 failed to reach their targets, exploding in the air.

Ukraine's southern defense forces said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

In the past day (from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.), the enemy used tactical aircraft to launch cruise missiles from the Black Sea.

"Three missiles of an unknown type, launched at Mykolaiv region, Kherson region, and Odesa region in the evening, failed to reach their targets, exploding in the air," the report says.

As reported by Ukrinform, the UK intelligence has analyzed the recent statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the intention to deploy MiG-31 fighter jets for patrolling the Black Sea area. Intelligence analysts believe that the Kinzhal missiles that the jets will carry are actually at the stage of operational testing,
