Over the past week, as part of the Offensive Guard, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard members have advanced deep into Russian defense lines in the Melitopol sector.

The relevant statement was made by Acting Deputy Director of the Planning Department at the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel Mykola Urshalovych during a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In the Melitopol sector, thanks to the competent actions and artillery support, the assault teams of the Offensive Guard brigades, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, achieved success in certain directions and advanced deep into the enemy’s defense lines,” Urshalovych told.

During the offensive actions, the National Guard members eliminated up to a company of Russian invaders, captured their positions, and destroyed Russia’s MT-LB armored personnel carrier near Novoprokopivka.

Urshalovych noted the effective performance of the aerial reconnaissance units of the 27th Pecherska Brigade in the Lyman, Donetsk, Kherson and Melitopol sectors. Over the past week, they have detected and destroyed seven enemy tanks, five self-propelled artillery systems, 17 howitzers, one MT-12 anti-tank gun, one armored fighting vehicle, eight motor vehicles, one Sobolyatnik radar system, and one armored recovery vehicle.

The National Guard’s artillerymen completed about 690 fire missions in the Lyman, Melitopol and Kherson sectors, having eliminated about 70 Russian invaders and destroyed one armored personnel carrier, one D-30 anti-tank gun, one MT-LB armored personnel carrier, two mortar squads, and four ammunition field depots.
