In the Kherson region, the occupants made every effort to conceal information about the number of victims of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion, in particular, they took the bodies of the dead to an unknown destination.

Yuriy Sobolevsky, the first deputy chairman of the Kherson regional council, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"The occupation authorities made every effort to hide the consequences of their crime. They did not register deaths as a result of the flooding, they wrote that the person died of heart disease or for some other reason, just to avoid admitting that the cause was a terrorist attack on the hydroelectric power plant," Sobolevsky said.

He also said that there are missing people. The bodies were taken away by Russians - groups traveled around collecting them and taking them to an unknown destination. Therefore, according to Sobolevsky, we will be able to find out the number of victims after the de-occupation of the left bank of the region.

As reported, at night on June 6, the Russian army blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing flooding of parts of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and critical shallow water of the Kakhovka reservoir.
