War update: 35 combat engagements occur on front in past day

Thirty-five military clashes have occurred between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders in the past 24 hours.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Russian troops have launched two missile strikes and 39 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) on Ukrainian positions and settlements 72 times over the past day. Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to residential houses, schools and other civil infrastructure.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine, according to the General Staff.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, over 25 settlements were affected by Russian mortar and artillery strikes in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russians launched air strikes near the Kharkiv region’s Kyslivka and Pishchane. Such settlements as Hrianykivka, Synkivka, Kupiansk and Orlianske were affected by enemy artillery and mortar strikes.

In the Lyman direction, Russian occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Luhansk region’s Novoiehorivka. The enemy launched air strikes near the Kharkiv region’s Chervonyi Stav; the Luhansk region’s Tverdokhlibove and Makiivka; and the Donetsk region’s Vesele. Over 30 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Klishchiivka. Over 25 settlements were affected by enemy artillery strikes.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Pervomaiske. Enemy artillery strikes affected the Donetsk region’s Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue holding back Russia’s onslaught near the Donetsk region’s Marinka. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. Russian artillery strikes affected Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Kurakhove, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka and Hostre.

In the Shakhtarske direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks near the Donetsk region’s Vuhledar. Russian invaders launched air strikes near Vuhledar, Vremivka, Blahodatne, Staromaiorske and Urozhaine. Over 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery strikes.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian occupiers launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka and Robotyne. Over 20 settlements were affected by enemy artillery strikes.

In the Kherson direction, Russian artillery strikes affected Khreshchenivka, Dmytrivka, Mykilske, Kherson and Dniprovske.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, where they are gaining a foothold within the recaptured frontiers and carrying out counterbattery measures.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched 10 strikes on Russian personnel clusters and one strike on an enemy surface-to-air missile system.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit one Russian surface-to-air missile system and three artillery systems in firing position.
