Ukrainians attack Russia on the latter’s territory using Ukrainian-made weapons and have a full moral right to do so.

That’s according to U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, who spoke at a press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The press conference was held in a bomb shelter amid an air raid alert.

"Ukraine is attacking the territory of Russia with Ukrainian weapons. And after I was in Bucha, where Russians were killing women in children with their hands tied, shooting them in the head. I think the Ukrainians have a moral right to do what they are doing,” Senator Blumenthal said.

He noted that Ukrainians live under constant attacks, so it is necessary to deliver more air defense capabilities to the country.

The Joe Biden administration is ready to provide more air defense systems, but the problem is that these systems must first be produced so suppliers should see incentives to fulfill production orders sooner, noted Blumenthal.

The senator also emphasized the need to speed up the training of Ukrainian war pilots on F-16 fighter jets. In his opinion, these aircraft could become a game changer on the battlefield.

As reported, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who was also on a visit to Ukraine, noted that with only 3% of its defense budget spent on assistance to Ukraine, the United States helped the Ukrainian forces destroy “half of the Russian army.”
