Russia launches Iskander missile at Ukraine’s Kryvyi Rih

The Russian military launched an Iskander ballistic missile over Kryvyi Rih. Fifty-five homes were damaged.

That’s according to Oleksandr Vilkul, Chairman of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, who broke the news on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Today at around 05:30, the terrorist state attacked our city with an Iskander ballistic missile. According to updated reports, 55 private homes and 15 farm buildings were damaged as a result of the missile strike, windows were partially shattered in 24 apartment blocks. A local school and a higher educational facility also sustained damage, as did several objects operated by utility companies and transport infrastructure objects," he wrote.

As a result of the strike, electricity supplies were severed to over 45,000 residents. Several hospitals immediately switched to power generators. The water supply system also switched to reserve power mode. Thanks to the prompt response by all emergency services, the power supply was restored in the shortest possible time, early this morning. Work on liquidation of the consequences is still underway.

Immediately after the missile attack, two field headquarters were deployed to issue construction materials and receive from affected residents applications for financial aid.

Earlier it was reported that a local man, 70, sustained minor injuries. Psychologists provided assistance to eight persons at the scene.

Throughout the day, in the Nikopol district, the invaders shelled Nikopol and the Marhanets community, employing heavy artillery. A private enterprise and a residential building were damaged.
