F-16 training kicks off in Denmark for first group of eight Ukrainian pilots

Denmark has launched a training course on F-16 fighter jets for eight Ukrainian pilots as part of its commitment to provide these aircraft to Ukraine.

This was reported by Reuters with reference to the Armed Forces of Denmark, Ukrinform saw.

Eight pilots have arrived at the Danish military air base in Skridstrup together with 65 maintenance personnel who will be trained in servicing the aircraft, the Danish Armed Forces said in a statement.

On Monday, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said Greece would also take part in the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s fighter jets.

As reported, Zelensky made a blitz tour to Sweden, the Netherlands, and Denmark this weekend.

On August 20, the Netherlands and Denmark announced their decision to hand over to Ukraine a batch of F-16 fighter jets. Ukrainian pilots and maintenance specialists have already started mastering these aircraft. Denmark, which currently has 43 F-16 warplanes in service, expects to deliver the first fighter jets to Ukraine before year-end.
