No change seen in Russia’s nuclear posture – Stoltenberg

NATO has not detected any changes in the deployment of Russia's nuclear forces, and therefore the Alliance sees no reason to reconsider its own corresponding setup.

According to Reuters, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Norway on Thursday.

"We haven't seen any changes in their nuclear forces that trigger us to change our forces and the way those are arranged. So far we haven't seen anything that demands that from our side," Stoltenberg said.

As reported by Ukrinform, previously the Russian leadership repeatedly resorted to nuclear threats.

Thus, on July 30, the ex-president of the Russian Federation, the current deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said that Russia may be forces to the use of a nuclear weapon if Ukraine's offensive succeeds, and it liberates the territories captured by Moscow.
