Zelensky visits brigades conducting offensive operations in Melitopol direction
As the President’s Office reports, Zelensky met with Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the operational and strategic group of troops "Tavria", and visited the locations of the 3rd Colonel Petro Bolbochan Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura", the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 15th Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade, as well as at the frontline command posts of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
The President listened to the reports of the commanders about the course of hostilities in the areas of the front, which are in their area of responsibility, and discussed the most problematic issues of units with the brigade and battalion commanders.
The President’s Office reports that the military emphasized the need for EW systems and front-line air defense systems to counter the enemy's aircraft and UAVs. There is also a need for unmanned aerial vehicles as they are quickly lost in offensive conditions.
The President and commanders of military units discussed the issue of professional selection of people, equipping brigades with special equipment and machinery, the need for armored evacuation vehicles.
The Head of State instructed to systematize the requests of the military, also taking into account the information that was heard yesterday during the visit to the Soledar military training center, to submit them for consideration by the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and to pass them on to Ukraine's foreign partners.
As reported, the day before, on August 14, Zelensky made a working trip to Donetsk region where he visited the headquarters of the brigades conducting offensive operations in the area of responsibility of the Soledar operational-tactical group.
