New images of Russian Navy’s landing ship damaged by drone

New satellite images have been released showing the Russian Navy’s Olenegorsky Gornyak Ropucha-class large landing ship damaged by naval drones.

The damaged ship is currently located in the port of Novorossiysk, InformNapalm reports, according to Ukrinform.

Near the Olenegorsky Gornyak, the satellite spotted a floating crane, an

emergency and rescue vessel, and two diving boats.

The ship is held up by cranes and moorings amid ongoing repair work.

As reported earlier, in Novorossiysk Bay, a sea surface drone struck Russia’s large landing ship Olenegorsky Gornyak with nearly 100 crew members onboard.

The Ukrainian SBU security service and the country’s Navy took responsibility for the attack, which was praised by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Overnight Saturday, in the Kerch Strait, a naval drone attacked and damaged the U.S.-sanctioned Russian tanker SIG, known for regularly transporting aviation jet fuel from occupied Crimea to Syria. The vessel was anchored in the area after arriving from Türkiye.

Ukraine issued an official warning that the water area in six Russian ports in the Black Sea shall be considered war-risk zones.
