Ukraine's General Staff reports 33 combat clashes along front line on Aug 2

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in an evening update published on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

According to the update, Ukraine's offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk sectors is ongoing, with Ukrainian defenders entrenching themselves on the achieved lines and carrying out counter-battery measures.

Throughout the day, Ukrainian aircraft launched ten strikes on the enemy, including nine strikes on areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment and one strike on an anti-aircraft missile system.

Ukrainian rocket and artillery units, in turn, hit 20 artillery pieces, a radar station, two command posts, an area of concentration of weapons and military equipment, an air defense system, an area of concentration of personnel and two ammunition depots of the Russian army.

Throughout the day, Russian troops carried out five missile strikes, 86 air strikes, as well as 36 attacks using MLRS on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas. As a result of enemy attacks, civilian casualties were recorded.

The General Staff warned that the probability of the enemy carrying out further missile and air strikes against Ukraine remains very high.

On the Volyn and Polissia axis, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axis, Russian troops attacked the area of Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv region with aircraft. The enemy also fired mortars and artillery on more than 20 settlements, including Karpovychi and Novovasylivka in the Chernihiv region, Volfyne, Krasnopillia, Rozhkovychi and Stara Huta in the Sumy region, and Tymofiivka, Veterynarne and Okhrymivka in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupiansk axis, the invaders carried out airstrikes near Petropavlivka and Kyslivka and launched artillery and mortar attacks on Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashivka, Krasne Pershe and Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman axis, Russian aircraft struck the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, Serebrianka and Spirne in the Donetsk region. The settlements of Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Torske in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire from the enemy.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Russians made unsuccessful attempts to recapture the positions they lost west of Kurdiumivka, south of Andriivka, and west of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.

The invaders carried out airstrikes in the areas of Druzhba and New York. More than ten settlements, including Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery shelling in the Bakhmut sector.

On the Avdiivka axis, the Russians launched an airstrike near Avdiivka and fire artillery on Novokalynove, Stepove, Berdychi, Avdiivka and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.

On the Marinka axis, Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Marinka area. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Oleksandropil, Hostre, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region were hit by enemy shelling.

On the Shakhtarske axis, the Russians launched an airstrike in the Staromiorske area and made unsuccessful attempts to recapture the positions they lost west of Staromaiorske and north of Urozhaine.

More than ten settlements were hit by Russian artillery in the Shakhtarske sector, including Vuhledar, Vodiane, Blahodatne and Storozheve in the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia axis, the Russian army is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian forces. The invaders attacked more than ten settlements with artillery, including Novodarivka, Bilohiria, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne and Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Piatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region.

On the Kherson axis, the Russians launched an airstrike in the Odradokamianka area. They fired artillery on more than 15 settlements, including Vesele, Dudchany, Dniprovske, Tiahynka and Kherson.
