The invaders are using FAB-500 bombs to shell civilians in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov said this on the air of the United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The enemy is shelling the settlements in the Kupiansk community with guided aerial bombs, the so-called "five hundred", destroying the housing stock. As for our military, they are holding their positions. The enemy is suffering heavy losses in manpower, equipment, and weapons. These assaults are coming in waves that we need to survive and withstand," Syniehubov said.

He noted that obligatory evacuation of the population from this community has not yet been announced (previously, families with children from several villages along the border were evacuated). According to the head of the military administration, residents of Kupiansk do not leave of their own free will. Several people leave a day, up to a maximum of seven.

"Although Kupiansk itself is shelled almost every day, the settlements that are part of this community but are even closer to the border and the front line are shelled even more," Syniehubov noted.

"As scary as it is to say, people are used to living under constant shelling," Besedin said.

As Ukrinform reported, the enemy has again intensified assault operations in the Kupiansk direction, but is not successful.
