War update: Ukraine’s Air Force launches 13 strikes on enemy targets

In the past 24 hours, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has launched 11 strikes on enemy personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters, and two strikes on Russian surface-to-air missile systems.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

On the night of July 27, 2023, Russia again attacked Ukraine’s territory with the Iranian-made Shahed-type loitering munitions. Information about the consequences of that terrorist attack is yet to be updated.

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched 49 missile strikes and 37 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) over 63 times. Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to residential houses.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine, according to the General Staff.

Twenty-eight combat engagements have occurred over the past day.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, Russian troops are maintaining military presence. Over 25 settlements were affected by Russian mortar and artillery strikes in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive actions to the south of the Luhansk region’s Novoselivske. The enemy launched artillery and mortar strikes on the Kharkiv region’s Dvorichna, Zapadne, Fyholivka, Tabaivka, Topoli and Podoly.

In the Lyman direction, Russian occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions to the south of the Luhansk region’s Dibrova. The enemy launched artillery strikes on the Luhansk region’s Nevske Bilohorivka, and the Donetsk region’s Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled Russian attacks to the north of the Donetsk region’s Khromove, to the east of Druzhba and to the north of Klishchiivka. The enemy launched an air strike near the Donetsk region’s Klishchiivka. Over 15 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Avdiivka direction, under extensive artillery fire and air strikes, Ukrainian warriors successfully repelled Russian attacks near the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue holding back Russia’s onslaught near Marinka. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka, as well as artillery strikes on the Donetsk region’s Kurakhivka, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Pobieda.

In the Shakhtarske direction, Russian troops made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost positions near the Donetsk region’s Staromaiorske. Over 15 settlements were affected by Russian shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian occupiers are focusing efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing. The enemy launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv and Piatykhatky, and the Kherson region’s Antonivka. Over 35 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, are gaining a foothold within the re-captured frontiers and opening fire on enemy positions.

Over the past day, Ukraine’s missile and artillery units have struck 11 Russian artillery systems in firing position, two command posts, one ammunition depot, one personnel, ammunition and military equipment cluster, and three other important enemy targets.
