War update: 25 combat engagements during the day
This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00 on July 26 published on Facebook.
"During the day, the aviation of the defense forces launched 11 strikes on the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment clusters, and two more – on its anti-aircraft missile systems. Missile and artillery units hit nine artillery pieces on firing positions and two command posts of the Russian invaders during the day," the report reads.
Instead, during the day, the enemy launched three missile strikes, 28 airstrikes, and more than 10 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated settlements. Unfortunately, there are victims among the civilian population, residential buildings were destroyed.
In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.
In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy maintains its military presence. Mortars and artillery were fired at more than 20 settlements, including Semenivka, Yasna Poliana in Chernihiv region; Vilna Sloboda, Stepne, Basivka, Mohrytsia, Pokrovka in Sumy region; Veterynarne, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Kolodiazne in Kharkiv region.
In Kupyansk direction, the aggressor conducted unsuccessful offensive operations south of Novoselivske, Luhansk region. Dvorichna, Zapadne, Tabayivka, Topoli in Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In Lyman direction, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area south of Dibrova, Luhansk region. The settlements of Nevske and Bilogorivka in Luhansk region; Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.
In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas north of Khromove, east of Druzhba, and north of Klishchiivka. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Klishchiivka in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region, were struck with enemy artillery.
In Avdiyivka direction, under heavy enemy aircraft and artillery fire, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks in the area of Avdiyivka. At the same time, the enemy fired artillery at more than 10 settlements, in particular, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiyivka, and Sieverne in Donetsk region.
In Maryinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of Maryinka. The enemy launched an airstrike near Krasnohorivka. The settlements of Kurakhivka, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiyivka, Maryinka and Pobieda in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.
In Shakhtarske direction, the aggressor made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position near Staromayorske in Donetsk region. The enemy launched airstrikes near Blahodatne in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were hit, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, and Blahodatne in Donetsk region.
In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy focuses its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops. Airstrikes were launched in the areas of Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Pyatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia region; Antonivka in Kherson region. More than 30 settlements, including Malynivka, Huliaypole, Stepove, Lobkove, Kamyanske in Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region; Dudchany, Beryslav, Kozatske, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Kizomys in Kherson region; Ivanivka in Mykolaiv region were struck with artillery.
"At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, gain a foothold on the reached boundaries, and inflict fire damage," the General Staff informs.
