The United States plans to announce a new allocation of funds for the purchase of military assistance to Ukraine worth $1.3 billion in the coming days.

That's according to the U.S. news agency Reuters on Tuesday, citing two representatives of the U.S. administration, Ukrinform reports.

"The United States is using funds in its Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) program, which allow President Joe Biden's administration to buy weapons from industry rather than pull from U.S. weapons stocks," the article says.

According to one of the administration's representatives, the package will include air defense systems, anti-drone systems, attack drones and ammunition.

It is specified that the United States plans to purchase for Kyiv, among other things, VAMPIRE air defense systems manufactured by L3Harris Technologies.
