Almost 40 combat engagements recorded in four directions in past day – General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“Over the past day, aircraft of the defense forces launched 13 strikes on manpower clusters of the occupiers and destroyed one anti-aircraft missile system of the enemy. Over the past day, units of the rocket forces and artillery hit one manpower, weapons and military equipment cluster, four command posts, one ammunition depot, eight artillery units in firing positions, two units of anti-aircraft defense equipment, one radar station and four EW stations of the enemy," the report says.

Over the past day, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with five Iranian-made Shahed UAVs. Two kamikaze drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses. In addition, the Russian occupiers launched 59 air strikes, carried out 65 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. The probability of further Russian missile attacks and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy, in the course of offensive operations, attempted to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their held positions in the area of Novoiehorivka, Luhansk region, but had no success. The Russian forces launched an airstrike on the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. More than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks on the areas south of Berkhivka and Bohdanivka, Donetsk region. They continue to conduct offensive operations in the south and north of Bakhmut, they gained a foothold on the boundaries achieved. The enemy launched air strikes on Bohdanivka and Toretsk districts. More than 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Khromove, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Pivnichne of Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the advance of Russian troops in the area of Avdiivka. At the same time, the enemy launched air strikes on Avdiivka and Nevelske areas. More than 10 settlements, in particular, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Nevelske and Pervomaiske of Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks on the area of Marinka. The enemy launched an air strike on Krasnohorivka area in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Hanivka, Marinka, and Pobieda of Donetsk region, came under enemy shelling.

As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to July 5, 2023, the Defense Forces eliminated about 231,700 Russian invaders.
